History

The accounting firm of McMullen, McPhee & Company, LLC has been in practice for more than 40 years.  However, the Firm name and office locations have changed since its inception.  On September 1, 1982, the Elko branch of the national accounting firm of Grant Thornton was sold and became McMullen, McPhee & Company.  It was named after Samuel C. McMullen and Theodore N. McPhee. 

 


 

Originally the firm had offices in Elko and Ely, Nevada, and also in Twin Falls, Idaho.  In 1985, an office was added in Winnemucca, Nevada.

Currently, McMullen, McPhee & Company has offices in Elko and Ely. 

The Firm has successfully completed independent peer reviews of its accounting and auditing practice.  McMullen, McPhee & Co. committed itself to periodic peer reviews upon joining the Division of CPA firms, a voluntary self-regulatory organization created by the American Institute of CPAs to foster quality performance.  After a thorough study of the Firm's procedures and work practices, the reviewers concluded that the Firm complies with the stringent quality control standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  The latest peer review was completed May 18th, 2004, for the year ended December 31, 2003.
